If you find yourself trying to correct or prevent fine lines and wrinkles due to aging, BOTOX® injections can help. At Rendon Center, we offer these injections to minimize your fine lines and help you regain your confidence.

Why Choose a Dermatologist for BOTOX®?

Medical professionals of all types can administer BOTOX® injections, from nurses to dentists, but these qualifications aren’t necessarily the best fit for a skin treatment. At Rendon Center, our board-certified dermatologists administer these treatments with their deep understanding of facial anatomy and skin characteristics. This expertise informs where they place injections and the appropriate dosage to ensure the look is natural for your face.

While BOTOX® injections are a nonsurgical procedure, they’re still a medical service. Working with a qualified doctor rather than a medspa professional is an excellent option for achieving results that meet your expectations.

Rejuvenate Your Appearance With BOTOX®

BOTOX® uses a neurotoxin called botulinum toxin to temporarily reduce muscle activity just below the skin. The result? Smoother skin with fewer visible wrinkles. Our dermatologists can inject BOTOX® in various areas where dynamic wrinkles commonly form, such as the forehead, around the eyes and between the brows. When placed strategically, BOTOX® can also provide relief for chronic migraines, treat temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction and reduce excess sweating.

Other notable benefits of these injections include:

  • Tightening loose or sagging skin.
  • Improving facial symmetry.
  • Softening platysmal neck bands.
  • Lifting the corners of the mouth.
  • Slimming the jawline.
  • Lifting brows without surgery.
  • Appearing more youthful and rested.

Your BOTOX® Journey at Rendon Center

If you’ve never received BOTOX® injections before, you’re likely curious about what the appointment will be like, and we’re here to guide you through it.

1. Expert Consultation

Before we decide on the best plan for your injections, we’ll conduct a personalized assessment of your needs and goals. You’ll have the chance to talk to our medical team about the areas you’d like to change and ask questions about the procedure. We take a personalized approach to this procedure to support the best possible results for your skin.

2. Quick, Comfortable Treatment

Once we determine a plan during the consultation, we can move forward with treatment. At least 24 hours before your appointment, avoid NSAIDs, like ibuprofen, to limit bruising, and come hydrated and fed. The injection process is quick and minimally invasive. We make sure you’re comfortable before injections begin, and your doctor will communicate every step as they place the injections.

3. Natural-Looking Results

After the dermatologist completes your injections, you’ll see natural-looking results. BOTOX® injections will take effect immediately, but it takes anywhere from one to four days to see a noticeable difference. Final results are usually visible after two weeks, and your course of injections will last about three months. If you keep up with maintenance sessions, you may be able to extend results to six months.

Immediately following your appointment, you may experience slight tenderness, bruising or swelling at the injection site. These are common side effects and will resolve within the first few days. If pain persists, you can take over-the-counter pain medications like Tylenol. However, you should avoid NSAIDs for the first 24 hours.

What Are the Advantages of BOTOX®?

BOTOX® is FDA-approved for the treatment of various medical conditions and cosmetic applications. As a non-surgical cosmetic treatment, BOTOX® creates subtle, natural-looking results with no downtime and relatively low risks of adverse reactions.

BOTOX® injections:

  • Reduces forehead wrinkles and frown lines
  • Reduces crow’s feet lines, lip lines, Platysmal neck bands
  • Reduces turned-down corners of the mouth
  • Reduces excessive sweating of the palms, feet, and underarms
  • Reduces migraine and tension headaches, and even symptoms of depression
  • Can be combined with other cosmetic treatments to enhance your results

BOTOX® is a temporary cosmetic injectable that will naturally lose effectiveness over time. This puts your aging journey in your hands. You get to decide if you want to maintain your results with follow-up sessions or allow them to fade.

What Can I Expect After My BOTOX® Appointment?

While BOTOX® injections begin working to reduce muscle stimulation immediately, it can take between 1 and 4 days for a noticeable change, with the final results typically visible within 14 days. You can expect your final results to last about 3 months. In some cases, especially for patients who are consistent with their maintenance sessions, BOTOX® can last up to 6 months.

Immediately following your BOTOX® injections, you may experience some swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection. These effects are typically minor and resolve themselves on their own. However, if discomfort persists, you may take over-the-counter pain medications like Tylenol. Avoid taking aspirin or NSAID pain relievers (such as ibuprofen) or blood thinning medications for 24 hours before or after getting BOTOX®.

In very rare cases, patients may experience adverse reactions to BOTOX®. If you experience any of the following symptoms, seek medical attention right away:

  • Muscle weakness
  • Vision problems
  • Trouble talking or swallowing
  • Breathing problems
  • Allergic reaction
  • Loss of bladder control
